Disaster Risk Reduction & Management

CHEF International is committed to serve the humanity. Besides its regular programmes, CHEF International reached out to the people who were struck down by natural disasters.

CHEF International has so far spent over PKR 800 million to serve the devastated communities and localities in disasters. CHEF International provided food and non-food items, relief items and rehabilitation of health and education services in the affected communities.

Moreover, the organizational approach was modified accordingly and a Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Response Unit (DPERU) was established in 2011 with the objectives to incorporate the element of disaster risk reduction & risk assessment in planning, designing and implementation in all CHEF International’s endeavors.

It was further intended to establish a platform where disaster risk management components could play pivotal role and provide sustainable measures in terms of social and economic development of the country.
