DESCRIPTION:World Hearing Day 2023\nOn March 3\, 2023\, World Hearing Day was commemorated with a seminar featuring the theme “Ear and Hearing Care for All: Let’s Make It a Reality.” During the event\, students delivered presentations\, and a significant activity included the screening of patients in the community as part of the celebration. \n \nWorld Sight Day Seminar\nA seminar was organized at Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences\, ISRA university\, Islamabad to celebrate World Hearing Day 2023\, with the prime objective to share information and promote actions towards the prevention of hearing loss and improve hearing care. Each year World Hearing Day carries a theme\, for 2023 it’s “Ear and hearing care for all. Let’s make it a reality!” emphasizing on the primary ear and hearing care integration into primary health care. \n \nDisability Day\nPIRS observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd in partnership with the Community-Based Inclusive Development Network (CBIDN) and Saaya Foundation. The event featured addresses by Maj Gen (R) Farrukh Seir\, Executive Director of PIRS\, Dr. Sarwat Mirza\, National Coordinator of CBIDN\, and Asim Zafar\, CEO of Saaya Foundation\, highlighting achievements related to SDGs with a focus on the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities. \n \nMOU Signing Ceremony\nOn October 23\, the Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (PIRS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding\, aimed at supporting the technician program at PIRS.
