Fundraising Event: Chaudhry Sajjad Haider Memorial Hospital and Training Institute, Gujrat
The Chaudhry Sajjad Haider Memorial Hospital and Training Institute is a remarkable philanthropic initiative by CHEF International. This visionary project began with the generous donation of one acre of prime land in Gujrat district by Mr. Ahmed Jawad, a retired Federal Secretary and renowned philanthropist. The first phase of civil work is nearing completion, thanks to the unwavering support of donors, local supporters, and philanthropists who extended their contributions in 2023. Special recognition is given to HBL Foundation for their significant contribution of PKR 20 million, alongside CHEF International's own support of PKR 20 million.
Fundraising Event Highlights
CHEF International recently hosted a successful fundraising event to accelerate the construction of the Chaudhry Sajjad Haider Memorial Hospital and Training Institute. This 100-bed hospital, situated on the donated land, aspires to transform lives by providing high-quality comprehensive eye care services and fostering ophthalmic human resource development. The hospital aims to address visual impairments caused by cataracts, refractive errors, diabetic eye diseases, trauma, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Daud Khan, Chairman of the Board of Directors at CHEF International. Speeches by the CEO of CHEF-I, Mr. Sohail Ayaz Khan, and the land donor, Mr. Ahmed Jawad, underscored the importance of this noble initiative. The program also included a fundraising appeal, a plantation ceremony, and a site visit to showcase the progress made thus far.
Numerous local donors generously contributed cash donations ranging from PKR 25,000 to PKR 300,000, while several attendees pledged future support. The event concluded as an overwhelming success, with a total of PKR 8.9 million raised.
Among the notable contributors, Mr. Ahmed Jawad and his family made a remarkable donation of PKR 3.8 million, setting an inspiring example of generosity. CHEF International applauds their invaluable support and extends heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who contributed to this noble cause.
